How this blog came to be

As the 2011 began, I pondered what changes I needed to make in my life. I noticed that I have gained some weight, 7 pounds in the last 70 days according to Wii fit! So I have a goal of losing 20 lbs this year but I want to do it in a healthy manner by making a lifestyle change, not by fad dieting.  I also became aware of how tired I was of living paycheck to paycheck without having much of a savings account. If so much of our money wasn't going towards paying off debt (credit cards and student loans mainly) there would be less financial stress and life would be more enjoyable. I love to simplify things so I thought perhaps could combine these two goals by finding recipes that were both easy on the wallet and easy on the hips. Thus Fit, Frugal and Fast Meal Planning was born.

The two main excuses heard about eating poorly are that it is too expensive and too time consuming to eat well. My goal is to make this an easily accessible place to find quick recipes with healthy ingredients that can actually save you money.
